Falleció el caricaturista Matty
Matty,
quien fue un ojo crítico de los gobiernos local, regional y nacional durante
muchos años, murió en la noche de ayer a los 85 años.

De
nombre de pila Matías Blanco Pineda, este talentoso caricaturista
nortesantandereano que publicó sus primeros trabajos hace cuarenta años, será
velado en la funeraria Casa de Los Nazarenos de Girón, municipio en el que
vivía recientemente.
Maty
se fue con 85 años recién cumplidos, de muerte natural y acompañado de sus
seres queridos.
Nacido
en Gramalote pero santandereano por adopción, fue por muchos años el
caricaturista principal de esta casa editorial. (Vea aquí una galería con sus

Su
primer trazo en Vanguardia Liberal se remonta a enero de 1976, con el título
“Los de Ruano”.
En ese
primer trazo, hace alusión a los deslizamientos de tierra producidos por la
erosión en sector de Cabecera del Llano. "El Lápiz de humor" y
"Pero Ría" son los títulos de otras dos series que publica en esa
época, según lo reseña Leonor Villamizar de Fritz para la Biblioteca Luis Ángel
Arango de Bogotá.
Edilberto
Ardila, otro tradicional caricaturista de Vanguardia Liberal, más conocido como
'Argón', recordó de Matty que "fue uno de los luchadores por este oficio
en el país. Él inició en una época en la que la caricatura eran solo dibujos en
el periódico".
Con
hondo pesar, aseguró que "él era una de las personas más sencillas, nobles
y cálidas que he conocido, en un medio donde los artistas son distantes".
En los
últimos años, publicó con el diario El Frente de Bucaramanga.

IRANIAN CARTOONIST HADI HEIDARI FREED FROM EVIN PRISON
Iranian cartoonist Hadi Heidari has
been released from Tehran’s Erin Prison. Mr. Heidari had been
arrested by government agents on November 16, 2015, at the
offices at the reformist newspaper, Shahrvand.
The cartoonist was taken into custody after a judge ordered Hadeiri to serve
the balance of a 2013 suspended sentence stemming from a cartoon
deemed anti-state. Heidari’s November arrest came shortly after
he posted a cartoon in response to the Paris terrorist attacks which was shared around the world.
As Hadi Hadeiri was released, three other journalists were jailed in Iran on charges of “spreading
propaganda against the ruling system, conspiring against officials and
insulting authorities.” According to the Committee to Protect Journalists, Iran has been one of the world’s most notarious countries for jailing journalists since
2009.
