Asesinan en Sinaloa a Javier Valdez, el periodista que cubrió como nadie el narco mexicano.Fue uno de los periodistas que más de cerca se dedicó a cubrir el crimen organizado en el país, intentando evitar que cayeran en el silencio historias que él creía merecían ser contadas, dándole un nombre a víctimas destinadas al olvido. "La lucha diaria por cubrir el narco", decía, era como "suministrar pastillas contra el olvido".
Escribía para que el horror no le fuera indiferente al resto. En un gremio golpeado por la violencia —Valdez es el quinto periodista asesinado en lo que va del año—, su muerte está lejos de ser una más.
Si en México existe un Mecanismo de Protección a los Periodistas, ¿por qué no logra frenar los ataques y asesinatos?
Este lunes al mediodía un grupo de hombres le disparó a pocas cuadras del semanario que fundó, Ríodoce, en su Culiacán natal. Tenía 50 años, estaba casado y era padre de una hija.

Terms of participation: - Maximum number of
submitted works: 5
- The submitted works should be in jpeg format
( DPI=300)
- The minimum & maximum sizes of submitted
works should be A4 & A3, respectively.
- There is no limitation on the technique used
in cartoons.
- The filled form of photo and a brief
biography of the artist should be attached.
- All rights of printing & exhibiting the
submitted works are reserved for the secretariat of the festival.
- A catalog of the festival will be presented
to all participants whose works are printed.
- The deadline for submitting the works: June 26
/2017

The awards: - 1’st winner:€3000 plus statue of
the festival

2’nd winner :€2000 plus statue of the festival

3’rd winner: €1000 plus statue of the festival
In addition, ten elite participant will
receive particular gifts presented by the sponsors of the festival. It is worth
notifying that the International Jury of the festival includes both artistic(cartoonist)
and scientific(management masterminds) referees.
