Más de 700 obras en el V Salón de la Caricatura dedicada al Turismo por Francisco Puñal
¿Cómo es la relación entre los turistas
extranjeros y los ciudadanos nacionales? ¿Hacemos un turismo respetuoso
con el medio ambiente, con la cultura y costumbres de los lugares visitados?
En la ciudad de Estambul (Turquía), la Asociación de Escritores y
Periodistas dedicados al Turismo, y la ublicación Anatolia, con la
contribución del Ministerio de Cultura y Turismo, y otros patrocinadores como
Club Nena, Club Calimera Serra Palace, Er Yatirim, y la organización GMC,
han organizado el V Salón Internacional de Caricaturas dedicado al Turismo,
que siempre despierta el interés de la sociedad. A esta
quinta edición, fueron enviadas 705 obras de 57 países, que abordan los
más diversos aspectos.
El dibujante ruso Andrei Popov ganó el gran premio, mientras que
el norteamericano Felipe Galindo y el ucraniano Sergei Semendyaev,
obtuvieron el segundo y tercer premios, respectivamente. El dibujo del
belga Luc Vernimmen recibió el galardón del Profesor Atila Özer, fundador de
este certamen. También fueron otorgadas varias menciones.
El objetivo de la competición es examinar el turismo, uno de los
sectores económicos y sociales más importantes del mundo, en sus diversas
dimensiones, ya sea en términos de experiencias de viaje, como de las
relaciones de la población durante sus travesías.
Los caricaturistas evalúan hechos de la industria turística y
también analizan comportamientos sociales y sucesos de esta manifestación,
siempre desde una óptica humorística que, con imaginación, elementos poéticos y
satíricos, se refieren a la conducta humana y a fenómenos de diversa
índole. Queda en evidencia, una vez más, que toda acción humana puede ser
convertida en un asunto humorístico.

1 - Theme: "Freedom" (In order to celebrate 40 Years April - The
Revolution that restored freedom and democracy to Portugal, challenged artists
to meditate on what is freedom, this personal right which begins where the
other ends and needs to others when our start. "Freedom" in its broad
expression, whether of thought, political choice, social integration,
religious, sexual orientation, gender ...)
2 - Open to participation by all
graphic artists with humor, professional or amateur.

4 - Each artist can submit via e-
mail in digital format (300 dpis A4 ) up to 4 works in black and white (one
color - not accepted drawings 2 , 3 or 4 colors ) , open to all technical and
styles as caricature, cartoon, gag cartoon, strip, plank bd (a single story
board)... and they should be accompanied with information of name, address and
email .
5 - Entries will be judged by a jury
consisting of : representatives of the Municipality of Penela ; representative
of Civil Parish of Espinhal; family representative Oliveira Guimarães , the
Artistic Director of the Biennale , a representative of the sponsors , a
representative of local communication and one to two guests, artists being
awarded the following prizes:
* 1st Prize BHLOG IV -2014 (€ 1,800

* 3rd Prize BHLOG IV -2014 ( € 800)
The jury, at its discretion may
award " Special Awards " , the honorary title , complete with trophy.
6 - The jury grants the right to
make a selection of the best work to expose the available space and editing
catalog ( which will be sent to all artists with work reproduced ) .
7 - The organization inform all
artists by email if you have been selected for the exhibition and catalog, and
what the winning artists . The work awarded compensation, are automatically
acquired by the organization . The originals of the works awarded shall be
delivered to the organization (the original work done in the computer is a
high- quality print on A4 , signed by hand and numbered 1/1 ), because without
such delivery , the prize money will not be unlocked.
8 - Reproduction rights are owned by
the organization , as soon as promotion for this organization , and
individually discussed with the authors , in the case of other uses .

Luis d' Oliveira Guimarães - Penela 2014 takes place 6-21 September at the

Tema: "La libertad " (Con el fin de celebrar los 40 años abril - La
Revolución de los Claveles que restauró la libertad y la democracia a Portugal,
desafió a los artistas a meditar sobre lo que es la libertad, este derecho
personal que se inicia donde los otros termina y comença a de los demás cuando
nuestra acaba. "Libertad" en su amplia expresión , ya sea de
pensamiento, de decisión política , la integración social , la orientación
religiosa , sexual, de género ... ) inicio

aficionados .

y estilos como caricatura, historieta, historieta de la mordaza , tira, bd
tabla ( una sola tarjeta argumento) ... y deben ir acompañadas con la
información de nombre, dirección y correo electrónico.

Las entradas serán juzgadas por un jurado formado por: representantes de la
Municipalidad de Penela , representante de Espinhal; representante de la
familia Oliveira Guimarães , el director artístico de la Bienal , un
representante de los patrocinadores, un representante de la comunicación local
y una y cincuenta y nueve invitados, artistas siendo otorgados los siguientes
premios:

El
jurado, a su discreción, puede adjudicar "Premios Especiales", el

El jurado otorga el derecho de realizar una selección de los mejores trabajos
para exponer el espacio disponible y el catálogo de la edición (que será
enviado a todos los artistas con obra reproducida ) .

La organización informará a todos los artistas por correo electrónico si usted
ha sido seleccionado para la exposición y el catálogo, y lo que los artistas
ganadores . La obra premiada de compensación, se adquieren de forma automática
por la organización. Los originales de los trabajos premiados se entregarán a
la organización (la obra original hecho en el ordenador es una impresión de
alta calidad en A4, firmado a mano y numerado 1/1), ya que sin dicha entrega ,
el dinero del premio no será desbloqueado .

4. Entries:
Initially each participant can
send before 15.06.2014, at most 10 works in digital form via this website. The author
must indicate in his e-mail the following information: his first name, last
name, his complete address, his e-mail address, his phone number, his birth
date, the category and the title or the number of each work. The
characteristics of these electronic sending are as follows: format JPEG, good
quality and max. 1 MB per picture. The organizers agree the sending of
originals by post for those who do not have a computer.
Out of these e-mails the jury
will make a selection of 100-150 drawings and will request from the authors of
these works the sending by mail of the originals for the choice of the prizes
and the publication in the catalogue. All these originals will be shown in the
exhibition and in the catalogue. Their size will be DIN A4 (210x297mm), good
quality paper, not folded and without a passe-partout.
On the back side of every work must be clearly mentioned the first name, last name, complete address, e-mail address, phone number, birth date of the author, the category as well as the title or the number of the work. This deadline is 31st of July 2014.

5. Technique:
Free, black and white or in
color, without subtitles. The organizers prefer classic cartoon artwork but
digitally created works are accepted but will not be send back. They must be
signed by their creator on the back side and be numbered by 1/1. Photos and
copies of original works will be eliminated.
6. Exhibition:
The award ceremony will be
held on Friday the 3th of October 2014 in Theater Boechout Vooruit,
St.-Bavoplein 17, Boechout were also the exhibition will take place in the
Foyer from the 3th of October until the 26th of October 2014 during the events
in the Theater (see: www.Boechout.be ) and also specially on Tuesday the 7th of
October (Annual Market Day and Boechout Fair) from 10 until 17 u. and on Sunday
26th ofOctober 2014 from 13 until 17 h.
7. Returns:
After these exhibitions the
originals will be returned to their authors except the works selected for one
of the prizes. The awarded works will become property of the organizer. The
organizer cannot be held responsible for the loss or damage of the return
postage.
8. Catalogue:
The authors whose works will
be selected for the exhibition will receive a free catalogue by mail together
with his work(s). Prize winners will get their catalogue during the award
ceremony.
9. Results:
The publication of the results
will be done on the website www.iha.be after 30th of September 2014. The award
winners selected by the jury will be personally informed by e-mail or by phone.
The final decisions of the jury, which will meet on the 23th of August 2014,
are incontestable.
10. Copyright:
The selected participants
allow the organizers to use their works only for promoting the author, as well
as the event. All other copyright remains property of the author.
11. Generalities:
The works should not have been
awarded before. By taking part to this contest the participants agree to the
abovementioned rules.

The winners of the 2014 Cartoon competition
The theme for the 14th CCWPF International Editorial Cartoon Competition was:
“Big Brother is Watching You.”
Whistleblower Edward Snowden revealed how the National Security Agency worked with government agencies to spy on the private communications of millions of individuals. Further revelations disclosed how the U.S. agency used massive data collected by internet and telephone corporations to circumvent laws that prohibit government agencies from spying on their own citizens. Without protection from illegal and unwarranted surveillance, the private communications of individuals can be chilled, leading to massive self censorship, the shackling of free speech and the creation of a Big Brother society.

As a condition of this competition, the cartoon creators grant the CCWPF and media outlets the right to publish them on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day and in support of its free speech principles. Credit to the creator and to the International Editorial Cartoon Competition of the Canadian Committee for World Press Freedom (CCWPF) is required.
