II Bienal de Humor Luís d’Oliveira Guimarães – Penela 2010 (Portugal)

Em 2008, realizámos pela primeira vez a Bienal Luis Oliveira Guimarães com os objectivos nobres de quem se esforça por honrar a História, o Espinhal e os Homens que se destacam na sua forma de estar e de ser.
A Bienal dedicada ao Jurista, ao Homem do teatro e das artes e ao Espinhalense está a ganhar dimensão e relevância nacional.
Pessoas de todo o mundo, que gostam de arte da caricatura, quiseram juntar-se aos Espinhalenses nesta homenagem que engrandece a Vila do Espinhal, tornando-a mais especial, mais única e, sobretudo, mais conhecida e prestigiada.
O tema deste ano é o teatro. O teatro é criatividade, é sensibilidade, é emoção e, enfim, é uma arte que Luis Oliveira Guimarães também amava.
A melhor forma de incentivar as novas gerações para a importância da memória do passado é através da recordação dos bons exemplos dados por aqueles que se tornaram especiais na sua forma de contribuir para o colectivo.
O Espinhal deve honrar-se, os Espinhalenses devem continuar a ter esperança… esperança e arrojo em contribuir para que os vindouros também se honrem do seu passado.
Somente dessa forma, haverá futuro … com identidade … com boa memória!

In 2008, we held the first Biennial Luis Oliveira Guimarães with a noble purpose to honor the history, Espinhal and the Men who stand in their way of living and being.
The biennial exhibition dedicated to the Jurist, the Man of the theater and the arts and to the Espinhalense is gaining size and national importance.
People from all over the world, who enjoy the art of caricature, wanted to join the Espinhalenses in this tribute that enriches Espinhal village, making it more special, more unique and, above all, best known and prestigious.
The theme of this year is the theater. The theater is creativity, and sensitivity, and emotion and,after all, is an art that Luis Oliveira Guimarães also loved.
The best way to encourage new generations to the importance of the memory of the past is through a remembrance of the good examples set by those who have become special in their way of contributing to the collective.
Espinhal must honor itself, the Espinhalenses must continue to hope ... hope and courage to contribute to the newcomers to be proud of their past
Only in this way there will be a future ... with identity ... and with good memories!

II Bienal - O Teatro

É a vida que inspira os caricaturistas / cartoonistas, exagerando os seus esgares, desmascarando as hipocrisias, dramatizando o quotidiano. Nas mascaras, nos exageros, o humorismo e o teatro são irmãos na desconstrução da realidade, e por esse universo navegou Luís d'Oliveira Guimarães, tanto como cidadão, ou como criador.
Como dramaturgo colaborou na escrita de cerca de uma trintena de Revistas, Farsas, Teatro Infantil… e como crítico teatral publicou milhares de criticas, crónicas, entrevistas. Luís d'Oliveira Guimarães é um homem do Teatro, sendo por isso natural que este ano o tema da Bienal seja o Teatro em toda a sua dimensão dramática, lírica, musical, balética, assim como na representação do quotidiano trágico-cómico.
Sendo o humor um jogo de códigos culturais, de conhecimentos, de tradições e de diferentes formas de pensar a vida, é interessante observar as diversas maneiras de humorizar o teatro, pelas visões diferenciadas de 133 artistas de 43 países. Mas, o planeta é uma aldeia global e, como tal, é mais a comunhão de ideias do que a diversidade, razão pela qual se vê que Shakespeare é na realidade o símbolo universal do teatro, já que em 297 trabalhos, dez por cento lhe são dedicados. O segundo tema, ou preocupação mais dominante, é a crise das plateias, o esvaziamento das salas.
Falando em crise. A Bienal de Humor Luís d' Oliveira Guimarães é um certame para trabalhos a preto e branco, monocromático por duas razoe:. por gosto, por opção estética, já que obriga a um recorte técnico mais purista no grafismo; por outro lado, por questões económicas, já que um catálogo a cores é muito mais caro e gostamos de respeitar a obra dos artistas. Infelizmente, quase um terço das obras recebidas é a cores, com excelentes trabalhos que tiveram de ser desclassificados pelo júri (marcados a * no catálogo) por não respeitarem o regulamento. Das 297 foram seleccionadas duas centenas de obras para a exposição na Biblioteca Municipal de Penela com posterior amostragem no Museu Nacional do Teatro em Lisboa.
A terceira temática dominante desta mostra é o "Ponto", figura teatral que está em vias de extinção a nível mundial. Depois, há um pouco de tudo em que são os desenhos que falam por si. Esperemos que se divirtam e vão mais vezes ao teatro.

It is life that inspires cartoonists / cartoonists, exaggerating their grimaces, exposing the hypocrisies, dramatizing the everyday. In masks, in exaggerations, humor and drama are brothers in deconstructing reality, and in this universe Luis d'Oliveira Guimarães navigated, whether as a citizen, whether as a creator.
As a playwrighter he collaborated in the writing of about thirty vaudeville, farces, Children's plays... and as a theatre critic published thousands of reviews, chronicles, interviews. Luis d'Oliveira Guimarães is a man of the theatre, so it is natural that this year the theme of the Biennial is the theatre in all its dramatic dimension, lyrical, musical, ballet as well as the tragic-comic representation of everyday life.
The humor is a game of cultural codes, knowledges, traditions and different ways of thinking about life and it is interesting to see the different forms of giving humor to the theatre, by the different views of 133 artists from 43 countries. But the planet is a global village and as these are more shared ideas than diversity, which is why we see that Shakespeare is actually the universal symbol of the theatre, because in 297 jobs, ten percent are dedicated to him. The second theme, or a more dominant concern, is the crisis of audiences - empty rooms.
Speaking in crisis. The Biennial of Humor Luis d'Oliveira Guimarães is an event for drawings in black and white, monochromatic for two reasons: for taste, aesthetic choice, since it requires a cut ina purer technical in the graphism; also for economic reasons, since a colour catalogue is much more expensive and we like to respect the work of the artists. Unfortunately, almost a third of the work received are in full colour, with excellent works that had to be disqualified by the jury (marked * in the catalogue) for not complying with the regulation. From 297, about two hundred works were selected for exhibition at the Municipal Library of Penela and subsequent exhibition in the National Theatre Museum in Lisbon.
The third dominant theme of this show is the "Prompter", theatrical figure who is in danger of extinction worldwide. Then these is a little bit of everything in which the drawings speak for themselves. Have fun and go more often to the theatre.
No dia sete de Maio de 2010 pelas dezassete horas, reuniu no Salão Nobre da Câmara Municipal de Penela, o Júri da II Bienal de Humor Luís d`Oliveira Guimarães.
Este júri foi constituído pelo Vice-Presidente do Município de Penela António José dos Santos Antunes Alves, pelo Técnico Superior de Cultura Mário José Rodrigues Duarte (representantes do Município de Penela); Jorge Carlos Antunes Pereira (representante da Junta de Freguesia do Espinhal); Renato Barroso (representante da família Oliveira Guimarães; Osvaldo Macedo de Sousa (Director artístico da Bienal) e Rui Pimentel (cartoonista convidado).
Após exaustiva análise dos 297 trabalhos gráficos apresentados a concurso, o júri deliberou a atribuição dos seguintes prémios:
1º Prémio-"Becket" de Santiagu (Portugal)
2ºPrémio-"Ponto" de Yury Kosobukin (Ucrânia)
3ºPrémi -"Teatro e Pobreza" de Agim Sulaj (Albânia)
Nada mais havendo a tratar, deu-se por encerrada esta reunião, da qual se lavrou a presente acta que depois de lida foi assinada por todos os elementos do júri.
